Ear Piercing Aftercare

Complete care instructions after Inverness MED system procedure

🧼 Hygiene and cleanliness

  • Always keep the piercing site clean, dry and with access to air.
  • Don't touch ears with dirty hands. Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching the ear or earrings.
  • Don't rotate or move the earrings unnecessarily.

πŸŒ™ Sleep and daily care

  • Change bedding or at least pillowcase to clean.
  • Sleep on your back to avoid pressure.
  • Tenderness or slight swelling is a normal healing symptom.

πŸ’§ Disinfection

  • 3Γ— daily clean the piercing site front and back using EAR CARE SOLUTION or other disinfectant.
  • Use clean hands and new cotton swab for each ear.
  • After washing, gently rotate the earring left and right 180Β°.

πŸ’„ Cosmetics and styling

  • During healing, avoid: hairspray, perfumes, dyes, foundations, powders and other cosmetics near the piercing.
  • After washing hair, thoroughly dry the ear with a disposable tissue and disinfect the piercing site.
  • Be careful when combing hair, putting on a hat and scarf.

🚫 What to avoid

  • Avoid pool, sauna and solarium.
  • Children should avoid sandbox and playgrounds.
  • Use shower instead of bath.
  • Limit alcohol, coffee, black tea and cola consumption as they may increase swelling.

πŸ’Ž Changing earrings

Do not remove earrings before:

  • 6 weeks – for earlobe piercing,
  • 12 weeks – for cartilage or nose piercing.

After this time you can safely replace them.

To remove Inverness earrings, firmly hold the Safety Back tip, and with the other hand twist and pull the earring front.

πŸ’– Further care after healing

  • Complete healing takes about a year.
  • After removing Inverness earrings, choose light, hypoallergenic earrings, e.g. from BIOJOUX line (nickel-free), to avoid allergies.

If infection or severe inflammation appears, do not remove the earrings β€” contact a doctor.
